During earthworks at the Pisan San Rossore Station in 1998 several antique shipwrecks, as well as parts of the cargo and personal belongings of the ship's crew were discovered; a true Pompei of the sea! Since June 2019, these objects can be visited in the Museum of the ancient ships of Pisa located in the former Arsenals.

Our guided tour of the Pisan Naval Museum embarks on a fascinating journey that encompasses all the thematic areas of the museum. At the center of our attention are seven perfectly restored ships and numerous items of life on board. You will learn interesting facts about the history of ancient shipping, the trade routes in the Mediterranean, the lives of sailors as well as shipbuilding and navigation techniques.
