In the 15th century Florence was the centre of finance and trade in Europe attracting an endlesss number of artists, philosophers, poets and scientists as Brunelleschi, Michelangelo, Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Pico della Mirandola, Savonarola and Nicollò Machiavelli. Tanks to their genius the town become the cradle of the Reniassance, a real incubator of projects and ideas which are the roots of many aspects of our modern western societies.

Our guided tour in Florence starts with a visit to Piazza Santa Maria Novella and its beautiful church. On a leisurely walk through the historic town center, we visit Piazza della Repubblica, the vivid Porcellino market and Ponte Vecchio, constructed in 1325. Walking along the banks of the river Arno we reach the famous Uffizi art gallery and the nearby Piazza della Signoria, the heart of the political Florence. Here Savonarola lit his bonfire of vanities. It is hard to leave the amazing beauties in white marble, such as Giambologna's "Sabinas' Abduction" or Michelangelos "David". But who would not like to see the highlight of this walking tour, Brunelleschi's majestic Cathedral with Giotto's Campanile or the famous bronze doors of the adjacent Baptistery!
