Villa Torrigiani and garden

  • walking tour

  • panoramic

  • Average duration 1.5

A majestic cypress avenue, almost a kilometer long, welcomes the visitor who approaches the park of Villa Torrigiani. The construction of the villa, commissioned by the Buonvisi family, dates back to the sixteenth century but thanks to a profound seventeenth-century transformation, ordered by Nicolao Santini, ambassador of the Republic of Lucca to the court of Louis XIV, today it is the best example of Baroque architecture in Tuscany.

The visit includes the two pools of water preceded by two majestic specimens of magnolia grandiflora, the garden of Flora, the nymphaeum and the fishpond and continues with the interior of the villa that has kept intact its style of a noble summer residence.
