Villa Poggio a Caiano, was an idea of Lorenzo Magnifico who entrusted the project to Giuliano da Sangallo. After Lorenzo's death, the work was resumed by his son, who ascended the papal throne with the name of Leo X. The villa remained for centuries a property of the Medici family who used it for leisure and for important events. A tradition continued then under the successors, in particular with Elisa di Baciocchi, sister of Napoleone Bonaparte and with Vittorio Emanuele II.

The visit of the villa includes the theater room, the Bianca Cappello apartment, the frieze room, the magnificent salon of Leone X, the dining room and the apartments of Vittorio Emanuele and the countess of Mirafiori. On request we continue the visit with the still life museum which houses precious works by Bartolommeo Bimbi.
