Thanks to the beauty of its Romanesque cathedral, the medieval palaces and the ancient fortress, Sovana was included in the list of the most charming villages in Italy. Here time seems to have come to a stand still right in its most flourishing period.

On our guided walking tour in Sovana we focuss on the Rocca, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, with a ciborium from the IX century (one of the few examples of pre-Romanesque art in Tuscany) and the beautiful cathedral, built in the eleventh century.

The visit of Sovana, could be combined with a part of the archaeological area, the so called Via delle Cave, a canyon like street inside the Parco della Civilta del Tufo.
