"A house in Arezzo, in the San Vito quarter, a place with the best air of the city, suitable to create a beautiful garden ..." With these words, Arezzo born painter, architect and art historian Giorgio Vasari described his home, today converted into a museum. The three-story palace is surrounded by an Italian-style garden.
After a brief introduction into Vasari's life and work we guide you through the various rooms of the museum focussing thereby particularly on the wall and panel paintings, created by the artist himself to embellish his residence. Of no less interest, however, are the works of the so-called "studiolo circle", a group of fifteen century artists who participated together with Vasari in the decoration of the study of Francesco I de 'Medici in Florence.
