
MONTERIGGIONI - CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI: Our tour begins with a visit to the small medieval village Monterigggioni, the ideal gateway for exploring the Chianti region. Completely enclosed by walls it gives you a true idea of how live must have been in the Middle Ages. Leaving Monteriggioni we head towards Castellina in Chianti. During a guided tour in the local archaeological museum you will learn about the fascinating culture of the Etruscans, the first settlers living in this area more than 2000 years ago. We continue our visit climbing up to the top of Castellina's Castle from where we enjoy the amazing panorama. After a break, a ride through one of the most beautiful parts of the Chianti, characterized by vineyards, stone houses, olive groves and and oak forests will bring you back to Monteriggioni.
CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI - RADDA IN CHIANTI: For this Chianti tour we start in Siena where we take immediately the "chiantigiana", the area's most famous road. Our first stop will be in Castellina in Chianti. On a tour in the local archeological museum, your guide will tell you the fascinating story of Chianti's first settlers, the Etruscans, who lived more than 2000 years ago in this area. With a short ride to the nearby town of Radda in Chianti, we continue our trip. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the medieval town, before we go back to Siena.
GREVE - RADDA - CASTELLINA: Starting in Florence, we reach Greve in Chianti, the heart of the Chianti. Greve's most famous son is the navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano, the first European who explored the New Work Bay in 1524. After a wine tasting, we leave Greve in the direction of Radda in Chianti. Relax on a gentle walk in this charming town before we take you to a nearby winery where you will enjoy lunch with typical Tuscan food and local wines. In the afternoon we visit Castellina in Chianti before we return to Florence in the late afternoon.
