BARGA: Hilly Barga lies 35 kilometers north of Lucca in the valley of the Serchio, a particularly striking and beautiful part of Tuscany. Starting from Lucca, we quickly reach Borgo a Mozzano and its amazing ‘Devil's Bridge‘. After a short stay, we proceed along the river Serchio towards Barga. Walking through narrow medieval streets we arrive at Barga’s main attraction, the cathedral dedicated to Saint Christopher. The church was built with travertine and preserves a masterful pulpit from the workshop of Guido Bigarelli. Duration: 2,5 -3 hrs. COLOGNORA: For centuries the small mountain village Colognora has been the heart of the local chestnut economy. Todays Colognora, choosen by American film director Spike Lee for his ‘Miracle at St. Anna,’ is a charming village which has well preserved its medieval character. After a gentle walk through narrow streets which open to stunning views we will visit the chestnut museum where you learn about the incredible variety of products manufactured in the past by skilled chestnut workers.
